A four part series for persons struggling with chronic health issues seeking to form a mindfulness/meditation practice in order to live a healthier and fulfilling life.

 

  The 4 Part Series Consists of:

Class 1: Introduction to the practice of mindfulness and meditation in daily life.  The concept of the stress response will be explored, and how our bodies react to stress, and may be contributing to your health issues.  Drop-in meditation, loving-kindness meditation, simple breathing and meditation techniques for the wandering mind.  Common  meditation postures for all will be introduced.

January 28th, 2017  – 10:30-1:00 PM pm – (2 ½ hours)  

Class 2: Introduction to mindful listening.  Techniques to teach you how to become a more mindful listener and communicator.  Using these techniques will improve your relationship with your spouse, children, your health care practitioner, and any person you have interactions with. Continued practice of breath-work, meditation, and cultivation of mindfulness in your daily life.

February 4th, 2017  – 11:30-1:00 PM pm – (1 ½ hours)

Class 3: How to use mindfulness and meditation in order to improve your sleep patterns.  A peaceful, restful sleep of 7-8 hours per night is recommended for overall health.  The technique of “body scan” will introduced as a tool to help you achieve better sleep and overall health. Continued practice of  breath-work, meditation,  and cultivation of  mindfulness in your daily life. We will also be introducing the concept of mindful eating for overall health and well-being.

February 11th, 2017  – 11:30-1:00 PM pm – (1 ½ hours)

Class 4: Gratitude and acceptance:  two very important concepts in mindfulness living will be discussed.  How we can learn to have gratitude and  acceptance in our daily life?  How does gratitude and acceptance contribute to overall health?  Wrap-up of varied techniques taught to live a mindful life.  Your journey to health and your awareness in how you can contribute utilizing mindfulness and meditation for your continued health.

February 18th, 2017  – 11:30-1:00 PM pm – (1 ½ hours)

 

 Cost is $200 for 4 part series and meets once a week
