As we approach the end of 2015, we may be so distracted with the Holidays and getting into the spirit that we may forget to reflect about the year we have just lived. This morning as I was shopping for Christmas, I realized my heart was more on feeling the emotions than on the shopping. I wanted to take into my heart all that is expected in this Season and give it to others. It is just amazing how easy it can be to be diverted and loseconnection with what really matters in life. I always write from my perspective…and this is what I share with you.
Most likely this year brought diverse experiences to your lives. Some experiences may have been beautiful; others may have been difficult or painful. In the canvas of our lives, we paint happy and sad memories. It is like creating a mosaic of moments, as our lives are made moment by moment.
At this time, you may choose what moment you want to keep in your heart and what you want to let go. Moreover, you have the ability to choose what painful memory can be transformed into a loving memory or a life lesson. Be aware that you have the freedom of choice. You have the ability to keep in your heart what gives value to your life, and dismiss what is not beneficial.
If you want to start the New Year fresh, unload your heart of baggage and keep free space for hope, for love; for peace. The beauty is that you can start making those changes right now by responding the following questions:
• How do I want to receive the New Year?
• What do I choose to let go?
• How will my life change as I let go of this?
• What painful memory can I transform into a loving one?
• What can I learn from this?
• How have I grown?
Finally, this Holiday Season instead of spending so much time taking advantage of the sales and being overwhelmed with shopping, what if you gave the Greatest Gift of All?
Do you know what this is? You may have guessed it…it is LOVE.
As you know, I constantly write about this gift as we always carry it in our hearts. It is just that we do not unwrap it as often as we can. We may get lost in giving from the outside that we forget to do it from the inside. As you do your reflection for the year and write the list of your Holiday gifts (do not forget to include yourself in the list), write from your heart, “give love more often.”
You may have just chosen the most powerful resolution for 2016 before the year starts!
From my heart to yours, I wish you Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
