In this month, we celebrate a special holiday. A special ritual,Thanksgiving! In this day, we are supposed to be grateful…only in this day? What about the rest of the year?
If we choose to have a grateful attitude, we will start seeing life under a new light.
On Tuesday, November 24th, we will have at The Center for Transforming Lives, our guided meditation on Gratitude. Just on time for Thanksgiving! Well, in reality, being grateful is a practice we should embrace every single day of the year.
I look forward to this meditation because I want to finish the year with this feeling surrounded by beautiful people who also believe in being grateful. As I call my special group of people who attend my classes: Peaceful and Loving. They are….well, we all are, if we allow the light of peace and love we all have inside of us, shine through and expand to others. What I want the most is to bring this message of gratitude, peace and love in these days when we may lose connection, as we start the busiest time of the year. Let’s keep in touch with who we are and let’s stay grateful for the rest of the year.
Is being grateful a natural state of the human being or do we have to work on it? I don’t care if we have to work on it…we can do it, if only we make the choice to start changing our lives from complaining, to giving thanks.
You can reply. Ligia, you don’t know what I am going through….If this is the case, I understand you….I’ve been there. I send you a caring hug, and my heart is with you. However, please keep in mind, you may have next to you something or someone to be grateful for and…you are not appreciating it because you may be focusing on the pain or on the loss you are confronting. I just ask you to focus on simple (actually, they are huge) things such as food on your plate, a bed to sleep, or a warm hand to hold. These are things to be grateful.
It is not easy if we focus only on what has happened to us, or on what we don’t have in our lives. But if we shift our perspective, if we change the filter and focus on the things we still have, we can experience gratitude. Things may not change (although, they may!) but, we will.
Remember that Thanksgiving is more than one day. It is a combination of two words:
Thanks-giving. So, start giving thanks every single day, and your life and the lives of those around you will change for the better. You will allow magic to come into your life.
